After a long career with the San Francisco Police Dept., Thomas P. Walsh was named Chief of Police, but only served "a day or so" before his death on May 1, 1933. Walsh was assigned to Mayor James Rolph's office in City Hall, and later served under Rolph at the Governor's Office in the State Building in San Francisco.
U.S. senators from Montana: Thomas James Walsh (1913-1933) and John Edward Erickson (1933-1934), who served the remainder of Walsh's last term.

From 2005-2010, former Montana congressman Bob Brown conducted oral history interviews with a variety of political figures in Montana. A few highlights within the topics are Montana and the Anaconda Company, the recurring sales tax referendum, mining, elections, deregulation, and the legislative process over time.
