Carr was Hentig's friend and commanding officer; letter Camp Thomas, 8 Sept 1881, to Mrs. J Harrison telling of Hentig's death and requesting that Mrs. Harison relay the details to her sister Mrs. Laura Hentig.

Hentig, papers of Laura Leeper Plummer Hentig and various invitations and calling cards; journal kept by Jennie Harrison when she traveled to the Philippine Islands to be with her brother, Dr. Mathew Leeper. In this extensive journal Mrs. Harrison recounts her experiences, the living conditions and the native customs in both Hawaii and the Philippine Islands, 1882; letter from Walter Reed, 1882 telling Jennie Harrison that he and his wife will miss her company when she goes to the Philippine Islands.
