This collection consists of biographical information (letters, newspaper clippings, autobiographcial writings), correspondence to and from Roberts, addresses and writings by George E. Roberts and other banking experts, and copies of his numerous published works. Correspondence with Harvey Ingham, Sir George Paish, C.T. Revere, W.R. Boyd and W.J. Peterson is of particular note. Taxes, the gold supply, business cycles, international trade balance, price controls, farm price supports, railroad regulation, labor relations, foreign debts, post World War II economic crisis and recovery and agriculture policy are among the topics covered in the addresses and writings. These writings make up the bulk of the collection.

Copies of letters James Malin sent, most of them during his career as a history professor at the University of Kansas (Lawrence), 1921-63. Most of the letters were to other historians, but others went to editors & publishers; relatives of research subjects; employees of the Kansas State Historical Society; and family members, including his uncle James F. Malin, a member of the Kansas Legislature. The letters discussed research projects; books & articles; and a wide variety of topics in United States, Kansas, & agricultural history & economics. Much of the correspondence with the Kansas State Historical Society pertained to submitted articles he reviewed and edited for The Kansas historical quarterly. A number of letters were to former graduate students holding faculty positions, and some were to colleagues at other universities inquiring about positions for students. The papers of John T. Frederick are made up of subject files which document his many faceted career. There are copies of lectures, research, and other course related material concerning his teaching. As founder and editor of The Midland, he kept records including an account book, correspondence, subscribers lists, and a nearly complete run of the journal. Frederick's writing is represented with manuscript material including early drafts and galley proofs of his novels. Two copies with differing titles of one of the programs in the series Iowa history radio programs, presented on April 4, 1933 by radio station WSUI at Iowa City. The series was presented by staff of the State Historical Society of Iowa to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the settlement of Iowa. This program presents an imaginary dialogue between Black Hawk and a young American boy at Fort Madison, Iowa. Black Hawk's replies to the boy's queries are taken from Black Hawk's autobiography.
