Comprises: (1) Literary papers of Geoffrey Hill relating to several of his publications, including 'O nata lux de lumine' (ca. 1974), 'Ad incensum lucernae' (ca. 1975), 'Tenebrae'(1978), and 'Collected poems' (1985), with several sets of uncorrected proofs of the 'Collected poems' and several copies of the cover design for the published work; (2) Autograph manuscript and typescript correspondence of Geoffrey Hill with various different correspondents, including William Cookson (between 1965 and 1986), Robin Robertson (between 1984 and 1988 with associated material, notably 4 black and white photographs of Geoffrey Hill and a typed copy of Hill's curriculum vitae, dated 1986), and colleagues at Leeds University (between 1973 and 1980), and 2 early autograph manuscript letters from Hill, one from Oxford, ca. 1954, and the other entitled 'Pensées', ca. 1952; (3) Copies of publications containing reviews of Hill's poetry, notably the 'New Statesman' and 'The Listener', dating between 1959 and 1971; and (4) Photocopied typescript of an interview with Geoffrey Hill conducted by John Haffenden, ca. 1980, with autograph manuscript revisions, later published in 'Viewpoints: poets in conversation with John Haffenden', 1981.

The collection contains thirty manuscript poems; one folio (Sceptre Press, copy no. 7 of 40) signed by five poets including Jennings; a portfolio labelled "Dante" which may be a translation of his poems; two corrected galleys of three poems; biographical clippings on Jennings; subscription orders for her book, Poems; and eighteen letters to her editor and publisher. Correspondence with Oscar Mellor, publisher of the Fantasy Press, concerns her books and book contracts, and includes receipts for royalty payments. Also, includes letters from her agent David Higham to I.E. Mellor at Fantasy Press. Jennings writes to William Cookson, editor of Agenda, admiring his work with David Jones and expressing thanks that he likes her poems.

Chiefly Meacham's correspondence (1920-75) with American literary figures, many of whom were in the Virginia Poetry Society. The collection also contains material on Ezra Pound, including an electrostatic copy of a poem "To a city sending him advertisements"; letters from Pound to Meacham; notes by Meacham regarding Pound's release taken from Archibald MacLeish's restricted papers in the Library of Congress; and Meacham's book, "The caged panther: Ezra Pound at St. Elizabeth's," 1967. The collection also contains sketches by Dorothy Pound, including two for Ezra Pound's "Cantos"; copies of poems inscribed to Meacham, articles and reprints sent to him, clippings and photographs. Papers, 1900-1903, of Ernest Francisco Fenollosa, include two notebooks pertaining to N*o drama, ca. 1900, transcribed by Dorothy Pound; a lecture, 1903, on landscape poetry and painting in Medieval China; and a transcript by Doroty Pound, 1965, of a notebook "The Chinese written character as a medium of literature."
