This collection of papers, for the period 1820 to 1839, consists of accounts, correspondence, and documents relating to the legal action taken by Jonathan Hatch Hubbard (1768-1849) of Windsor, Vt., against officers of the Green Mountain Turnpike Corporation. Those officers were Alexander Campbell (1762-1837) and his sons, Edward Raymond Campbell (1787-1857), Alexander Stearns Campbell (1790-1867), and John Hubbard Campbell (1793-1869), all of Rockingham, Vt. The papers concern the ownership of corporation stock and the management of the turnpike, as well as claims levied by Hubbard against John H. Campbell.
