The papers, compiled by Bunch, consist chiefly of genealogical research material. In addition there is correspondence, 1820-1890s, of the Lewis family of Bath Co., Va. and Missouri describing pioneer life in Missouri, 1820s-1840s, life in Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee, and law suits and surveys in Bath Co., Va. Of interest of horse sales in Richmond, 1823, bank failures in Illinois, 1842, a flood in Missouri, 1832, and the election of 1844. There are also letters, 1924-1926, of Bunch to his mother Laura Crease Lewis Bunch describing life in the Navy, and Mediterranean ports visited. Bunch's relatives write regarding Little Rock, Ark., 1935-58, British Columbia, 1920-47, and England during and after World War II. In addition there are financial, legal, and business papers of the families including correspondence, insurance papers, statements, deeds, and wills. Many of the business papers concern the Quapau Zinc Mining Co., Little Rock, Eastern Selling Associates, grain dealers, and the building of a Carnegie Library in Little Rock. Photographs, journals of trips to Florida, 1932-1941, an Augusta farm journal, 1948-1957, a farm day book of meat and dairy sales, 1916-1929, a brief painting record, 1932-1946, and a brief apple picking record, 1925-1938 complete the collection. Robert Mills, John Brockenbrough, and Briscoe Gerard Baldwin are correspondents.
