The Harrison Price papers contain hundreds of research reports, feasibility studies, proposals, speeches, and collected research materials on a variety of projects Price conducted as a consultant in economic feasibility for attractions between 1955 and 2006.
Series 1: Reports, 1952-2003 55 boxes, 54.5 linear feet: Series 1 holds reports that contain feasibility studies, research reports, and other studies created by HPC or other collected companies. Reports are in order by number, given by Price. Reports by HPC are numbered 1-900; other firms collected reports number over 1000. Some reports have a number and letter code, while others only have a number. The finding aid describes each report by client, project class, title, date, author, and if it was a Disney Project.
Series 2: Proposals, 1978-2001 4 boxes, 3.25 linear feet: Series 2 contains proposal documentation and correspondence for research, consultation and other services performed by Price. Files are in original order in general subject categories as organized by Price.
Series 3: Speeches, 1966-2006 3 boxes, 2 linear feet: Series 3 includes speeches given by Price at a variety of events documenting his many projects and professional activities. The speeches are arranged chronologically.
Series 4: World's Fairs, 1974-1989 6 boxes, 5.75 linear feet: Series 4 documents Price's involvement and research on World's Fairs, specifically the fairs in Knoxville in 1982, the Louisiana world Exposition in 1984, and Vancouver's Expo in 1986. The bulk of the materials in this series document the Louisiana World Exposition and the lawsuits which occurred after the exposition went bankrupt.
Series 5: Images, 1964-1997 2 boxes, 1 flat file, 4.5 linear feet: Series 5 contains collected materials organized by location and project. Contents include pictures, negatives, slides, postcards, brochures, and posters from such places as Disneyland, Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, NASA, Hong Kong, Taiwan, London, Sydney, Japan, and China.
Series 6: Subject Research Materials, 1960-1995 3 boxes, 3 linear feet: Series 6 holds collected materials that are organized in alphabetical order by a subject category. These materials were used for background research and initial information for multiple projects. Many of the research materials provided background for a variety of reports in Series 1.
Series 7: Project Research Materials, 1948-2005 66 boxes, 1 flat file, 57.25 linear feet: Series 7 contains research materials for specific projects including Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Six Flags, Knott's Berry Farm, Cedar's Fair, The Longaberger Company, Silver Cup Studios, Silver Dollar City, among other projects. Some projects also include municipalities including the City of Norfolk, Virginia, the City of Cochella, California, the City of Branson, Missouri, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and governments such as Australia, Nigeria, Panama and others. These materials were collected as the research basis for projects that Price was hired to perform. Many of the research projects that are found in this series may not have necessarily become reports or proposals. In some cases, this series contains the only record of a project that Price worked on during his long career.
Series 8: Price Company Files, 1963-2000 4 boxes, 4 linear feet: Series 8 contains materials from the Economic Research Associates, Planning Research Corporation, and Harrison Price Company. These materials consist of company profiles, correspondence, organization files, council and meeting files, faxes, projects, and Buzz files.
