The collection consists of the papers of Sarah Evelyn Lewis from ca. 1920-1940. The papers include a variety of material pertaining to Howard University, the Lewis family, and other African-Americans. The Howard University material includes programs for many events, medical newspapers, the Zeta Phi Beta sorority, invitations, and dance cards. Material relating to the Lewis family is comprised of many business cards for Lewis family members and acquaintances, announcements, small amounts of correspondence, legal documents and medical documents. Also in the collection are some programs of churches and other miscellaneous printed material.
