His wife, Corinne Robinson Alsop (1886-1971), formed the first Connecticut group of Republican women to receive recognition in the party before they had won the right to vote. In 1924, she was elected to a two-year term in the Connecticut State House of Representatives. Their youngest son, John Alsop (1915-2000), was an insurance executive in Hartford and the Republican candidate in the 1962 Connecticut gubernatorial race. He was defeated.
