Eldest son of Major General Augustin Prevost, born in New York, 1767; colonel commandant 5th Battln., 60th Regt., Sept. 8, 1806; lieutenant general in the Army, June 4, 1811; colonel 16th Regt., Feb. 17, 1814; created a baronet, Dec. 6, 1805; died in Belmont, Eng., Jan. 5, 1816.
