Wililam Jay was an American jurist and philanthropist.

William Jay, son of John Jay, was a lawyer well known for his abolitionist views.

Willard was a member of the Massachusetts legislature (1828-1829), librarian of the Massachusetts Historical Society (1833-1835), and clerk of the Court of Common Pleas in Suffolk County, Massachusetts (1841-1865).
