The League of Women Voters was formed from the National American Woman Suffrage Association in 1920. Following the national organization, the League of Women Voters of Indiana was formed in 1920 from the Woman's Franchise League of Indiana. From its beginning the league has worked to protect the rights of voters, women and children through education and legislation support.
