Hide Profile

Probably a native of Ireland, Duncan enlisted in an Illinois infantry regiment (possibly the 80th) that was organizing at Centralia, Illinois in August 1862. If this is the correct James Duncan, he died November 8, 1862 in Louisville, Kentucky. His parents were James and Mary Ann Duncan, Irish natives, who lived in Perry County, Illinois in 1870 and 1880.
