John Van Buren (1810-1866) was son of the United States President, Martin Van Buren and served as New York State Attorney General from 1845 to 1847. Susan Foster Vanderpoel (1832-1907) was his brother-in-law's wife.

John Van Buren (1810-1866) was an American attorney and politician, and the son of Martin Van Buren, 8th President of the United States. He graduated from Yale, practiced law in Albany and in New York City, and served as New York State Attorney General from 1845 to 1847. He was also active in Democratic Party politics.

Enos T. Throop (1784-1874) was an American lawyer, politician and diplomat. He served as governor of New York State from 1829 to 1832.
