Lewis Henry Steiner (1827-1892) was an American physician and librarian. He helped to organize the Maryland College of Pharmacy where he held the chair in chemistry. During the Civil War he was an inspector for the United States Sanitary Commission. He was appointed in 1884 librarian of the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, a post he held until 1892.

He was appointed in 1884 librarian of the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, a post he held until 1892.

Among his published writings are Paracelsus and his influence on chemistry and medicine (1853), Report on strychnia; its physiological properties and chemical detection (1856), Human body and disease, considered from the Christian standpoint (1858) and Sketch of the history, plan of organization and operations of the U.S. Sanitary Commission (1866).
