Letter, 1762 April 15, to the Governors of New Hampshire, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Amherst writes that he has proof that the French are being supplied with provisions from most American ports. He wants the governors to work to alleviate this illegal trade since merchants are witholding supplies which British troops desparately need. Does not want an embargo, but hopes the governors will take the necessary steps to achieve these goals.
