First grade spelling, 1909.

Description: Transcripts of an article on methods of teaching spelling to first graders which appeared in the Wisconsin State Journal of Education, March, 1909. Mary Bradford was hired by Lorenzo Dow Harvey and arrived in Menomonie in the fall of 1906 to assist Harvey in his capacity as superintendent of the public schools with the first four grades, to teach in the kindergarten training school, and in conducting a graduate course in primary school supervision should the need for such a course develop. Bradford remained in Menomonie until the spring of 1909 when the kindergarten training school was discontinued.
