As a young man, Carl Zigrosser was deeply influenced by the writing of Petr Kropotkin. In 1912, he wrote Kropotkin for advice on leading a responsible, contributing life in the pursuit of progressive goals. Kropotkin's thoughtful reply suggests a path of humility, and a willingness to serve, not lead.
