William Shirley, governor of Massachusetts and commander of the planned exepedition against Niagara, gives a full account of the progress of the campaign to the governor of New York. Includes information about Shirley's plans, ammunition, finances, and troop movements; and mentions the related Crown Point expedition. Followed by a letter from Shirley's son John, giving additional details and news of the beginning of Braddock's campaign.
