Born in 1892 in Ungarisch Brod, Moravia (now Slovakia), Leo Jung was raised in Moravia and in London, where his father, Rabbi Meir Zvi Jung, led London's Federation of Synagogues. Leo Jung received his rabbinic ordination from Rabbi David Hoffman at the Berlin Hildesheimer Seminary and his Ph.D. from London University.
