Taylor describes his father Charles' emigration from England in 1850, move to Northfield (Minn.) in 1859, and subsequent life there, including hunting and fishing, passenger pigeons, early Northfield and Rice County settlers, the 1876 Northfield bank robbery, and the city's 1870s-1880s baseball teams. Based on a paper read at a Rice County Historical Society meeting, May 16, 1951.
