Correspondence and memorabilia of the Cady and Randolph families of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Montana. Alonzo D. Cady's diary and letters to his wife Sabrina and other family members describe his Civil War experiences with the 26th Iowa Infantry in Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia (1862-1865); another letter (1883) discusses his experiences as a gold prospector in Dakota Territory.
