Julie C. Gauthier papers, 1883-1924.

Correspondence, newspaper clippings, and transcripts of speeches, lectures, and articles by Julie Celina Gauthier, a St. Paul (Minn.) artist. She was born in Illinois; came to St. Paul in 1873; studied art in Boston, New York, France, and Italy; won an art prize at the New Orleans World's Fair (1885); and was an art instructor in the St. Paul high schools from 1889 to 1919. She authored the booklet "Minnesota Capitol Official Guide and History."
