Minutes of meetings, annual reports, membership lists, bulletins, financial records, and other materials detailing the activities of this social service agency, organized to help immigrants adjust to American life. It helped the foreign born deal with personal problems, with government agencies such as the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the U.S. State Department, with employment agencies, and with private social agencies. Council representatives also attended Naturalization Court hearings and sponsored receptions and programs for new citizens.
