Librettos for operas by Donizetti, Mercadante, Ponchielli, Puccini, Rossini, and Verdi. The were printed primarily in 19th century Italy, though a few are from France. The collection was split up with some 41 items staying in Stanford University's Music Library; the 22 that came to Special Collections were particularly fragile. This is the summary catalog record for the collection; each libretto is cataloged individually as well.
