Dr. Kenealy studied law at Dublin and was called to the English Bar in 1847. He was leading council in the Tichborne claim which became the longest case on record. His conduct during and after the trial brought him before a professional tribunal and he was eventually debarred. He was elected as representative for Stoke on 14 Feb. 1875 and took his seat on the 18th.
