Presidential personnel files, 1988-[ongoing].

The State Board of Education is authorized to appoint a Chancellor of Postsecondary Education who is to assist the Board and make decisions concerning the management and operations of the Alabama College System. (Ala. Code, 16-60-111.1 [1975]). A duty of the Chancellor is to hire qualified individuals to serve as presidents of the institutions within the college system. This series consist of the personnel file of each individual appointed to fill a presidential vacancy in the state community, junior, and technical colleges. Each folder may contain any or all of the following information: application form, resume, transcript, Chancellor's confirmation of appointment, credit information, and Federal Bureau of Investigation check.
