Sewer system applications, 1934-1936.

In Act 102, General Acts of Alabama, approved 1933 Mar 29, the attorney general was made ex-officio bond commissioner of Alabama. These records contain the files of individual municipalities issuing bonds for construction of water and sewer systems. They include copies of local ordinances, correspondence between localities and the attorney general, copies of correspondence between the attorney general and the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta, and other pertinent items. Most of the bond issues were purchased by the PWA or WPA, with the Federal Reserve acting as fiscal agent. By the law, all such bond issues had to mature in less than forty-five years.
