Records of the Office of Indian Trade.

There are records of the Office and individual factories. Most of the Office records are for the period after its removal to Georgetown in 1807. They include letters received, 1806-24, letters sent, 1807-30, and accounting records. There are records, chiefly accounting records, for the following factories: Arkansas, 1805-10, Belle Fontaine, 1805-9, Cherokee (Tellico and Hiwassee), 1796-1810, Chicago, 1805-22, Chickasaw Bluffs, 1806-18, Choctaw, 1803-25, Creek, 1795-1820, Detroit, 1802-4, Fort Edwards, 1818-23, Fort Madison, 1808-15, Fort Wayne, 12804-12, Green Bay, 1815-23, Mackinac (Michilimackinac), 1808-12, Natchitoches-Sulpher Fort, 1806-23, Osage, 1808-23, Praire du Chien, 1818-22, Sandusky, 1806-12, and Spadre Bluffs (Illinois Bayou), 1818-24. A few records of other Government units and some private records are intermingled with these.

The Alaska Public Works Program was authorized during the 81st Congress through the Alaska Public Works Act, Public Law 264. The Act authorized the General Services Administration to construct public works in Alaska, at a total cost of $70 million, then to sell them to the Territory of Alaska or other public bodies in Alaska at a purchase price that would recover approximately 50% of the total estimated cost.
