1981 Internation Liberators Conference collection of liberator testimonies Bergen-Belsen articles.

Includes two articles concerning the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. THe first article, "Belsen Concentration Camp" by J. A. D. Johnston is a typescript. It describes the history of Bergen-Belsen; gives prisoner statistics; and outlines the establishment of the hospital at the camp. The second article, by Chris Mitchell, entitled "The Valley of Death, the Armies of Life" appeared in "Moment" (issue date not specified). It describes the role of the British military in the liberation of Bergen-Belsen, the treatment of the SS guards captured at the camp during liberation, and the mass burials of victims of the camp. Also included is a list of Bergen-Belsen liberator names compiled by Dr. Hadassah Rosensaft (Bergen-Belsen survivor) in Apr 1981.

Hadassah Rosensaft is a survivor of Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen and the widow of Bergen-Belsen survivor Josef Rosensaft. After the liberation of Bergen-Belsen by the British Army, Hadassah and Josef elected to stay in the camp in order to assist displaced persons there. Hadassah assisted orphans in the camp and Josef became the chairman of the Central Jewish Committee of Bergen-Belsen. He was later chosen to represent all Jewish survivors in the British Zone.
