The Theodore McCann Davis Scrapbook, Vol. 1 and 2, 1927-1966, .25 cubic feet, documents Dr. Davis's pioneering work on prostate resection. The scrapbook includes typescripts and reprints of Dr. Davis's articles and presentations, news clippings on Dr. Davis's work, photographs of his office and surgical equipment, and records relating to the various honors and awards he received for his work. The collection has been maintained in the original order in which Dr. Davis compiled the scrapbooks.

Theodore McCann Davis was born in Greenville, South Carolina in 1889. After graduating from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completing his residency at the University Hospital, he returned to Greenville. In the early 1920s, Dr. Davis began focusing on urology. He pioneered a technique of transurethral surgery and developed the necessary changes in equipment to perform this new surgery.
