The papers in this collection are the political correspondence of Thomas B. Irwin concerning the campaign of William Yates Atkinson for Governor of Georgia, 1894; Irwin's endorsements for Collector of Internal Revenue of Georgia, 1901 and 1910; the campaigns of John M. Slaton for Governor of Georgia, 1912 and for the U.S. Senate, 1914; the campaign of Theodore Roosevelt for President of the United States and the organization of the Progressive Party in Georgia, 1912; G.H. Hutchens' probable race for the Georgia Court of Appeals, 1914. Included are a pamphlet, Theodore Roosevelt's Confession of Faith, Before the Progressive National Convention, August 6, 1912, 23 p., and copies of the "Progressive National Ticket," a press release and circulars re Roosevelt's campaign, and a humorous business card of Robert L. Rodgers, Attorney and Counselor at Law, Atlanta, Georgia. Some letters are typed copies with typed signatures.
