Letter : Vicenza, to Antonio Diedo, 1815 Dec. 30.

Piovene thanks Diedo for having sent him four of his most recent discourses, the one on painting and sculpture being the most appealing to Piovene. Piovene discusses the design competition for the stairs leading up to the church at Monte Berico. There is also a discussion of Napoleon's theft of Italian art masterpieces as an affront to national honor. Mentioned in passing are Giovanni Selva and Leopoldo Cicognara, hopeful that the latter will raise his pen in protest of the raids by Napoleon's army.
