Files include schedules (also referred to as calendars) as well as materials regarding individual trips taken by Bishop Chilstrom. In the Schedules subgroup, the Event Participation Summary is a listing of synod-, congregation-, college-, and seminary-sponsored events in which Bishop Chilstrom participated. The lists are arranged by synod, college, and seminary. The Forums with ELCA Units were designed to give ELCA staff the opportunity to discuss with Bishop Chilstrom any topic of concern. Staff submitted questions in advance, and the forums were carried out in an informal setting. Schedules include pages from Bishop Chilstrom's calendars and copies of his travel itineraries. The Trips files contain speeches given at events to which Bishop Chilstrom traveled. Also included are itineraries, correspondence, journal entries, and news releases. Files are arranged chronologically. The occasion for the 1987 Viborg, Denmark trip was the acceptance of the ELCA into the Lutheran World Federation (LWF).
