The President website series comprises the content of the website designed to broadly disseminate information to the university community and general public. The first website snapshot (March 1, 2001) includes a biography of President Lee Bollinger (1997-2001) and Interim President B. Joseph White (2001-2002). Information can also be found on Presidential Committees, Initiatives and Special Projects, including the Fathom project, Life Sciences Initiative, Report on the President's Commission on the Undergraduate Experience and the Campus Plan. The second website accession (September 14, 2005) contains "In the Interim," a communication newsletter written while Homer A. Neal served as Interim President (1996-1997); also, content from President Lee Bollinger, including commencement remarks in 1997, 1998, and 1999. The second website accession also includes material from President Bollinger to just after the start of President Coleman's tenure (2002-) including Coleman's Speeches, Visions, and Goals and Committees, Initiatives and Special Projects. Also included is the History and Traditions website, a committee reporting to the president. Researchers should note that this information is effective as of September 14, 2005.

Outside of museum holdings, no comprehensive survey and inventory of campus artwork had been attempted since 1937. With support from the Michigan Commission on Art in Public Places, 1,076 items were inventoried during 1988-1990. The first woman to lead the University of Iowa, Mary Sue Coleman held academic appointments as professor of biochemistry in the College of Medicine and of biological sciences in the College of Liberal Arts while university president.
