Julio Cortázar papers, 1966-1980.

Includes 37 letters from Cortázar to the artist Julio Silva, with whom he collaborated on several projects. Letters to Silva include comments on books, and some also include diagrams and drawings. Also with a carbon of a letter from Cortázar to Italo Calvino, and a letter from Silva to Arnaldo Orfila Reynal. Also includes manuscripts of: 62 : modelo para armar, Les discours du Pince-Gueule, and Último round, among other compositions and one group photograph at an exhibition.

Julio Cortázar was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1914 of Argentine parents, but he grew up in Buenos Aries, Argentina. He was a writer, poet, and translator who authored over 25 novels and short story collections. Some of his best known works include: Rayuela, 62 modelo para armar, and Historias de cronopios y de famas. In 1951 he moved to Paris due to his opposition to the Perón regime in Argentina.
