Architectural drawings, [ca.1850-1899]

Collection consists of eleven architectural drawings of a church in the Roman revival style. One is signed, "H. Graves, arch. 115 Court St. Boston." Drawings depict elevations, floor plans, timber structure plans, and designs for ornamentation. Some of the drawings include instructions. Details of the spire, bell section, and base of the clock are sketched. Drawings are done on an 8 foot to 1 inch scale.

Henry Solon Graves was born on May 3, 1871 in Marietta, Ohio. He was a forester and organized the School of Forestry at Yale University. Graves died in Brattleboro, Vermont on March 7, 1951. Graves attended Yale University (B.A. 1892, M.A. 1900), Harvard University, and the University of Munich, Germany. From 1900-1910, he was director of the Yale Forestry School.
