Collection consists of correspondence, corporate records, and social records that reflect Alfred Harrisons personal activities and involvement with the Winterthur Corporation, legal and financial matters involving the estates of Ruth Wales du Pont and Henry Francis du Pont, and rental matters concerning a New York City Park Avenue apartment. The collection also contains a hotel bill from Claridges, a London hotel where Harrison stayed in 1962, a letter from Elise Bordeaux-Groult, a friend in Paris, and a telegram from his mother, Alison Gowen. Other correspondence was with Gasparilla Island Dairy; Boca Grande Light & Power Company; the firm of Morris, Nichols, Arsht, and Tunnell; and the firm of Millbank, Tweed, Hope, and Hadley.

Alfred Craven Harrison was an attorney in New York. He attended St. Pauls School in Concord, N.H. and graduated from Harvard in 1936. In 1938, Harrison married Pauline Louise du Pont. He served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United Stated Navy during World War II. Harrison was a trustee of Winterthur Museum from 1949-1973 and served as its vice president from 1951-1973.
