Frances Anne "Fanny" Kemble (27 November 1809 – 15 January 1893) was a British actress from a theatre family in the early and mid-19th century. She was a well-known and popular writer and abolitionist, whose published works included plays, poetry, eleven volumes of memoirs, travel writing and works about the theatre. Son of Samuel Cabot, Jr., brother of Edward Clarke Cabot. Graduated Harvard Law School, 1845. Practiced law with Francis E. Parker, 1847. Accompanied Agassiz on his tour of Lake Superior region in 1848 and upon his return published a narrative journal of the expedition. Worked as architect with E.C. Cabot, 1849-58 and 1862-65.
