This collection, comprising a range of material including manuscripts, clippings, and autograph letters, documents the public life of Victor Champier, particularly his career from the 1870s through the first decade of the 20th century. An active promoter of the decorative arts, Champier edited L'Année artistique, founded and directed La Revue des arts décoratifs, was involved with the creation of the Union central des arts décoratifs and the founding of France's Musée des arts décoratifs, and was a key figure in planning the Expositions universelles of 1889 and 1900.
