Correspondence and orations, 1638-1668.

Correspondence includes drafts of one hundred and twenty letters in Latin or Italian, that are principally addressed to Prince Cosimo II, Tuscan academicians, notably the Svogliati, and occasionally to foreign correspondents, such as Nicolaas Heinsius and Gilles Ménage. Thirty-eight letters were received from members of the same circle, for instance Jacopo Gaddi and Carlo Roberto Dati. Subjects covered in these letters feature classical philology, art and antiquities, modern language, literature and sciences, as well as Chimentelli's writings.
