Léon Rosenthal letters, 1903-1929, undated.

A series of letters to his friend and colleague M. Auréjac. Rosenthal writes of his research and writing on Callot, Géricault, Daumier and Carpaccio, and about trips to Italy, Belgium and Alsace. He touches upon all aspects of his personal and professional life and comments at length on the destruction of art and architecture during World War I. Rosenthal also writes of his activities as instructor of art history at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand and as director of the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon.
