A biography of Giorgio Andreoli da Gubbio, focusing on his work in ceramics and variety of themes in decoration - religious, mythological, floral and arabesque. Detailed account of his prosperous factory in Pesaro during the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries where he produced his individual style of majolica, notable for its vibrant colors and varying relief textures. The author includes brief accounts of other artisans working in Gubbio around that time, among them Luca della Robbia. Three etchings are included.
