Laura Carter Callow was an activist during the 1970s and 1980s who worked for the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment on both state (Michigan) and national levels. She was an active officer in several women's rights organizations, including the Livonia chapter of the League of Women Voters, the coalition W.O.M.E.N.
