C.E.K. Mees was born in Wellingborough, England. He was educated at the University of London where he received his D. Sc. degree in 1906. His dissertation was based upon research in photographic theory. In 1912 he moved to the United States and became director of research for Eastman Kodak Co. of Rochester, N.Y.
