[Illustrations to Dante's Paradiso]. [ca. 1830- ca.1840]

Forty drawings illustrating the 33 canti of Dante Alighieri's Paradiso, numbered from 1 to 41, mounted on sheets bound in an album. There is no drawing number 3. Eight handwritten notes quoting verses from the Paradiso for drawings 1 to 9, and eight strips of paper indicating the verse numbers for drawings 10 to 18 were laid in next to the corresponding illustrations. They are now sleeved together at the beginning of the album, along with photocopies of the texts indicated on the strips. Also included are three engravings after Nenci's drawings, signed "Gio: Masselli"; each of them bears the appropriate quote from the Paradiso. They are inserted next to the corresponding drawings.

1 album (40 drawings) : black pencil on tracing paper ; 42 cm. + 3 engravings.
