In this lecture Panofsky discusses the threat of nuclear war as one of the most pressing public issues. He presents an overview of the nuclear arms race contrasting the theory of "Mutual Assured Destruction" (MAD) with the theory of "Nuclear Utilization Target Selection" (NUTS).
