Journal (Robaut copy), 1822-1853.

Manuscript copy, in two volumes, of Delacroix's journal, copied shortly after the artist's death by Alfred Robaut. Robaut has added occasional marginal notes which place Delacroix's remarks in context. Vol. 1 begins with an entry dated Oct. 2, 1822 and runs through 1849, sometimes with long gaps; v. 2 covers the years 1850-1853.
