ArchivalResource

Eulogy for Henry Primakoff, and memoirs , 1984.

The file contains three manuscripts by Simon Peter Rosen: a one-page eulogy delivered at the International Symposium on Lepton and Photon Interactions at High Energies, Cornell University; a two-page anecdotal piece entitled Remarks in Honor of Henry Primakoff, delivered in Philadelphia in 1981; and a manuscript entitled Working with Henry--A Memoir. In the latter document, Rosen describes meeting Primakoff in the fall of 1955 at Oxford University and his work under Primakoff as a graduate student in double beta decay, Primakoff's role in convincing Rosen to stay in theoretical physics when they worked together again in 1967-1968 on the same subject (this is discussed in some technical detail), and Primakoff's writing and research style and interests.
