Clark S. Wortley papers, 1860-1921.

The collection consists of papers of Clark S. Wortley from 1860-1921. The papers include wartime letters generally of a personal nature written to Wortley by his sister and members of his regiment; official Army papers (including many of Wortley's records as quartermaster of the 20th Michigan Infantry Regiment); and miscellaneous materials (clippings, photographs, printed matter, and a collection of ribbons and rosters associated with veteran's activities of the 20th Michigan Infantry Regiment). Also filed with miscellaneous materials is Wortley's diary (April 1, 1864- March 25, 1865), which includes brief descriptions of his regiment's participation in the Petersburg, Cold Harbor, and Spotsylvania campaigns.
